Chi Nei Tsang Bali — Abdominal Bodywork & Spiritual Mentoring in Ubud

Some people arrive in Bali on holiday. Others arrive because something in them knows it is time. If you are here looking for Chi Nei Tsang in Bali, whether you are on retreat, passing through, or in the middle of something you cannot quite name, you have found the right place.

What Is Chi Nei Tsang?

Chi Nei Tsang is an ancient Inner Alchemy Taoist practice of abdominal touch that works directly with the body’s natural intelligence and internal landscape. The abdomen is where unfelt emotion, unprocessed life experience, and ancestral patterns are held in the tissues, not as metaphor but as physical reality.

This is not a relaxation technique. It is a direct, intelligent conversation with what your body has been holding, sometimes for years, sometimes for a lifetime. In a session, suppressed feelings are not simply released. They are met, metabolised, and integrated, transformed into embodied wisdom and capacity that becomes yours permanently. People often describe the experience as the deepest they have ever been touched, and the most seen they have ever felt.

Chi Nie Tsang is about holding a neutral gentle space of support and love, with a deep understanding that we, as souls, choose certain experiences to grow and learn from. Sometimes these experiences are not digested by the personality, body-mind, and the Chi Nei Tsang creates a safe space to digest and move forward in our lives.

Who Comes for This Work?

People find their way to this work from many different places: Some are on a spiritual retreat in Ubud and feel called to go deeper than the yoga classes and sound baths have taken them. Some are wellness travelers who have been carrying something heavy for a long time and sense that Bali is where it shifts. Some are in genuine crisis, a relationship ending, a career dissolving, a loss that has not yet been digested and integrated. And some know, without being able to explain it, that the time is now.

About Andrew & Chi Nei Tsang Bali

Andrew Kenneth Fretwell

Andrew Kenneth Fretwell is a Taoist Spiritual Mentor, Chi Nei Tsang Lineage Holder, Evolutionary Astrologer, and founder of the Wu Ji School of Inner Alchemy. He is also the author of two books on Taoist inner alchemy and spiritual development.

For over 36 years, he has taught the art of living from the deep intelligence of the body and spirit, guiding thousands to reconnect with their original vitality and life purpose through direct practice, abdominal bodywork, and the living transmission of a genuine lineage.

His Chi Nei Tsang in Ubud Bali, goes beyond technique. Working directly with the abdomen as the body’s centre of emotional and ancestral intelligence, Andrew brings decades of mastery to a practice that transforms what has been held in the body into embodied wisdom and lasting capacity.

Known for his grounded, uncompromising approach, Andrew weaves ancient Taoist wisdom with real-life practical experience, offering teachings and bodywork that cut through spiritual bypassing to meet what is actually alive in a person

At the heart of his life’s work is what Andrew calls the “Lost Heart,” the open, trusting innocence we knew as children, before life taught us to close, protect, and deny the truth of life. His deepest dedication is to supporting people in remembering and experiencing that they are already connected to the Tao’s living love, and to reclaiming that lost heart, not as a memory but as a living reality that no challenge in the outer world can touch.

Andrew lives and works in Ubud, Bali, where he sees clients in person and teaches globally through the Wu Ji School of Inner Alchemy.

What a Session at Chi Nei Tsang Bali Includes:

Sessions run about 90 minutes for first-time and 70 minutes for follow-up treatments. Please note I require 24 hours’ notice for sessions.

First-time sessions include a confidential holistic health intake.

There is no need to fast before the treatment, but do not overeat. There’s no need to undress, but you should wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the abdomen. The session includes hands-on abdominal attention and self-care instructions. It’s important to have some recovery time after the treatment, so try not to rush to work immediately. We encourage you to take a short walk or even a nap before driving.

If this is your first time receiving Chi Nei Tsang with Andrew, please read this article to understand the difference between fixing and healing.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“When I first met Andrew, I recognized in him a kindred soul who had discovered the essence of life. Because we also share a similar background, having studied with some of the same Taoist masters, we have both reached the same understanding of the importance of love as an embodiment. Andrew carries that spirit everywhere he goes. He truly embodies the principle of selfless service.

In addition to this, he is one of the very few people I have ever met who has a gift of physical touch that I would describe as divine. Whoever you are, listen to and learn from this man. He has great wisdom and sensitivity that you will only very rarely come across in this life.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

Do I need any prior experience with bodywork or spiritual practice?
No. People come with no background whatsoever, and others come with decades of practice.

Can I work with Andrew if I am not in Bali?
Yes. Online mentoring and Taoist Internal Alchemy and Qi Gong online courses are available globally through the Wu Ji Inner Alchemy School. Andrew also offers Evolutionary Astrology Consultations online to gain clarity on your major life lessons. The Chi Nei Tsang itself requires an in-person presence

How many sessions do I need?
That question usually dissolves after the first session. Chi Nei Tsang isn’t about fixing a problem in a set number of visits. The body is highly intelligent, and if it has symptoms, it has a very good reason for them. This work is about bringing what’s hidden inside you into awareness and integrating it into your life. Everyone is different in this respect; some people need only one session, as you can read in the testimonials. Others need more time to integrate. Andrew encourages listening to your own wisdom on when to have follow up sessions.
